Helping Families Build a Bridge to Self-sufficiency

PEM Premier Properties Donates 85 Volunteers, 175 Man Hours
and Two Semis Full of Toys and Clothes To UMOM New Day Centers

PHOENIX— In December, PEM Premier Properties, a branch of PEM Real Estate Group contributed over 175 hours of service, two semi trucks of donated goods and $5,000 to UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix.

"At PEM we are dedicated to not only serving our clients, but also to serving our community," said Paul Mashni, President and CEO of PEM Premier Properties. "Helping those in need is an extension of the corporate culture at PEM."

All branches of PEM, a residential real estate company, including PEM Real Estate Group, PEM Premier Properties and PEM Capital Group, participated in a toy and clothing drive at the company’s corporate office and each of its apartment communities.

UMOM's mission is to provide homeless and low-income families with food, shelter and tools to build a bridge to self-sufficiency.

This is accomplished through the operation of the UMOM New Day Center Shelter Programs, the Lamplighter Place (serving seriously mentally ill persons), the Watkins Overflow Shelter, and UMOM’s Domestic Violence Shelter, and the provision of a continuum of supportive services including childcare, case management, counseling, educational opportunities and other needed services.

Last month alone, 85 PEM employees volunteered over 175 hours at UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix.

"During our busiest time of the year, PEM volunteers lent a hand by serving meals, holding work projects, and even helping with childcare," said Jennifer Gardner, UMOM’s volunteer coordinator. "We value their support and hope to continue a volunteer partnership with PEM in the future."

PEM also made a financial gift of $5,000, which will go towards funding the programs UMOM offers.

"UMOM gives families the tools they need to become self-reliant," said Mashni. "The programs they offer improve quality of life for hundreds of people everyday; that is something that deserves support."
